Author’s note:  I had two eventful nights on 4 and 5 March 2014.  March 4 was a session of the 2014 Philippine International Jazz Festival at the Greenbelt 5 fashion Walk featuring Rosanna and Johnny Gaerlan, Chuck Stevens, Colby de la Calzada, Emcy Corteza Faustino, Reggie Padilla, and Abe Lagrimas Jr.  March 5 was an evening of Sama-Bajau dance and music organized under the rubric Pesta Igal Philippines 2014 at the GT Toyota Center, Asian Center, University of the Philippines. Igal (or Igal-Igal) is dance to the Sama or Sinama-speaking (aka Bajau, Badjao) peoples of maritime Southeast Asia.  Photos and septon copyrighted by Amado M. Mendoza, Jr.
